Chapter Two: Fairy Tale:

Hugo and I started out like a fairy tale romance. We were both fourteen when we met at a disco. He came in with his friends and I was with mine. I was still beautiful in those days. In fact, I was at the peak of my innocence. All of the boys turned their heads when I walked by. Yet, they were no match for me. Even in those days, I was an ambitious girl. I already had my future planned out since I was twelve. I wanted to be a powerful business woman in all of Europe. I even had my company name planned out. I didn’t have plans for romance or marriage. That was until I met him.

Hugo saw me on the dance floor on that fateful night. Like any other man, he couldn’t resist me. I of course I had no real interest in him. We met up at the juice bar after I danced.

“Hello there,” he greeted me. I gave him a small wave of indifference.
