Interdependence

Chapter One: Carnage:

War is an ugly thing. It has been stated before. Nothing anyone can say will change that. So, why do we still have war? Are human beings smart enough to realize that it just doesn’t work? Can’t they just throw up their hands up give up? According to the Greek islands, apparently not. The only one who gets it is Creila. Its people stay out of this crazy war and try to live their lives in the eye of the warring islands around them.

However, this isn’t about Creila. (You’ll have to read Bird of Paradise for that story.) No, there is another island within the fifteen caught up within this crazy war. Actually, there are two or three islands that will be mentioned in this story. Come, let us meet each one of them.

Etherious was once a magical place. It was the richest of the Greek islands. Even the main land of Greece envied it. Many tourists flocked just to see its wealth and appearance of Medieval Times in a fantasy novel. Lately though, the island has fallen onto hard times during the war. The leader of the pack couldn’t keep up with the storm brewing behind its back. By the time the prince caught word of it, a full-blown war had broken out. Instead of being neutral like Creila, the island of Etherious rushed to try and stop this mess before the islands suffered from more bloodshed and lost lives. Unbeknownst to the prince however, there were forces trying to under mind his kingdom’s efforts.

On the opposite end, Mykondra was poorer and more like a farm village. Like Creila, its people did not desire to see war in its hideous form. They just wanted to grow their little crops and carry on with their lives. They didn’t expect to be dragged into a plot to stop the Row Flower War along with the kingdom of Etherious. However, they chose to do this for the love of their darling homeland. It only took one message…

In between those two islands, lie Klapinos. This island would aid in the key to stopping the Row Flower War. This wouldn’t be easy in the beginning. At first, the island’s people wanted out of this craziness around them. Plus, rumors they heard would only deepen their distaste of helping to bring the Row Flower War to a speedy end.

What is the point of knowing these three islands? They serve as an important backdrop for our story of a young prince and his tomboy wife’s persistent efforts to restore peace for their home islands. On the course of this journey, they will come to learn their roles and…

Whoa! Stop right there, buddy! Can’t give away too much before we get right into the story, now can we? Plus, it’s starting to sound like boring drabble. We don’t want that, now do we? Enough with the chit-chat, let’s just get right into the story, shall we?

The story begins on the rural island known Mykondra on a dim, foggy day in the fields.
